With IRONMAN 140.6 and 70.3 races around the globe cancelled or postponed, triathletes everywhere are fit, ready and eager to race, but have no outlet to unleash their peak conditioning. Until now, that is.
The IRONMAN Group recently launched the IRONMAN Virtual Racing (VR) Series. It will be available from 1 April 2020 through the new IRONMAN Virtual Club web-app, an innovative digital platform that enables athletes to compete, train with purpose, engage and connect with the community from anywhere in the world.
Connecting triathletes around the world
The IRONMAN Virtual Club platform will be compatible with all popular wearable technology devices, which will connect to an athlete’s personalized activity dashboard, displaying training miles, challenges and IRONMAN achievements all in one place.
Athletes can sign up for weekly challenges and VR Series races through the IRONMAN Virtual Club platform to test their limits and see where they rank among a global community of athletes.
Athletes will be able to stay connected with fellow competitors via leaderboards, shared social media content, and programming through the IRONMAN Now page on Facebook Watch.
Elite content and a gamified experience
Each weekend of competition will feature a Men’s and Women’s IRONMAN VR Pro Challenge, where elite athletes will go head-to-head with each other and give you unprecedented, inside access to their race.
IRONMAN VR finishers will receive a commemorative bib, medal, finisher T-shirt and virtual badge after completing each race. They can accumulate points from all their training, challenges and IRONMAN VR races that can be redeemed for rewards, additional perks, and bragging rights.
